Spring.Break.2002
Destination.West.Bloomfield
(Somewhere in Michigan)

As if buffet was not enough, we pigged out on all-you-can-eat snacks.
Scene 7: Amelie

The Real Real World crew watches much acclaimed Amelie.  They have an unfortunate encounter with a ticket sales girl, indifferent to her job and the crew's questions. The group nurses ruffled feathers by buying "free refills" of popcorn and pop.

Hooray for comfort food.

Don't touch the windows . . . they might fall off.
Act 2: Post-Ann Arbor
Scene 1: By the van

The girls do some detective work that proved yes, the van is held together by duct tape.

Don't hit the hydrant!
Scene 2: Olivia drives

Such a monumental event, it deserves its own scene.

The crew scouts all of West Bloomfield and beyond for a breakfast place.  Andy's Cafe closed at 3pm.  Too bad, it would have gotten a lot of customers.

The crew settles for Kerby's Koney Island and pronounced it satisfying enough.

Happily wasting quarters.
Act 3: Marvin's Marvellous Mechanical Museum
Scene: By the drum game

Since the prospect of going to Detroit does not appeal to the larger group, Marvin's arcade offered an excuse for the group to spend pocket-heavy quarters.

Imagining how drunks see us.
Scene 2: Magic Mirror

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?

Voice from afar: The dummy to Jane's right hand.

Girls and mirrors . . . like magnet to ... uh, something magnetic.

"Princess Olivia" of skin  pimple-free and a waist-length coat reaching her knee.
"Princess Jane" with legs match-stick thin and a head you can fit a melon in.

The four missing dwarves: Gulp, Slurp, Gobble, and Sip.
Act 3: Brazil, not the country
Scene 1: Lounge, sans music

The crew sees Detroit but dares not venture outside the car.  A detour is Royal Oaks and a coffee shop for tea, mocha and relaxation.

Olivia: But I like the Nutty Brazilian!
Azeem: I will Carebear-stare you w/ my palm!
Thanh: That shake is good for donut dunking.
A fake candid picture.

Like the one you'd see in a catalog.

Try J.Crew.

Hmm, let's answer this personal ad.
Now a REAL candid picture worthy of the Real Real World, Michigan.

Azeem, Olivia, and Craig pore over the Thursday's comic section.

Azeems later rips it for his collection.

The girls jot their frustrations on the Brazil women's restroom wall.
Jane briefly thinks of adding her phone number, but decides against it.

The "Olivia" part of the cake was the first to go.
Act 4: Unbirthday Party
Scene 1: Basement

Olivia's parents throw a pre-birthday party.  Thanh gets a hold of the video camera and relentlessly interviews everyone in sight.  For lack of cake candles, the regular one has to substitute.

Thanh never lets go of the video camera.
The basement fills up eventually, forcing the crew to sit on the stairs and later in the living room.

Olivia hunts down Dominic for a bday hug.
Olivia gathers the kids and corrals them into the living room where, gasp, the college kids are staring idly at the ceiling.

A group shot at Living Room 1.
At the living room trying to delete some incriminating film regarding Olivia.

Opening some presents.
Later, Olivia pretends not to know that the crew bought her a birthday gift. Haha. (Oli, I still don't believe you didn't know).

Barbie Oli.  $99.99
Mole and accesories not included.
A quick make-over by Amanda transformed Olivia into Cindy Crawford.

She shows her birthday gifts of earrings and necklace.
